June 2018 saw a significant weather event on the East Coast, mainly in and around the Tologa Bay area. Millions of tons of tree debris and forestry slash washed down rivers and streams, creating havoc on the roading and powerline networks throughout the Gisborne district. Downer, the party given the responsibility of cleaning up the roads and bridges, turned to ArborCare to tackle this enormous and dangerous task.
Using large wood chippers, excavators and a Hiab truck to clear debris from the side of the roads, beaver dams around bridge pillars, and dangerous trees from around powerlines. ArborCare carried out the work efficiently and safely, allowing other infrastructure companies to get in and start their work timeously.
The plans for this area required the removal of several large palms trees to clear the way for new landscaping and other beautification work in the inner harbour precinct. Identifying that the removal of the large palms was a tricky task, Fulton Hogan appointed ArborCare to take care of the job.
ArborCare’s experienced staff and specialist equipment, enabled the job to be carried out on time, safely and efficiently, which minimised the impact on the general public.
ArborCare worked alongside our sister company Inline Group to repair the road side and hydroseeded the bank to prevent further soil erosion.
